My name is Sarah Carpenter.
I am inspired by wild places.
I love using painting to record the memories of these special places.
I love to spend time outdoors.
I have spent my career in the outdoor industry and have also spent my adult life pursuing adventures in wild places. I have been fortunate to travel the world and spend time hiking, biking, skiing and paddling in many remote and wild places.
My focus these days has expanded to sharing these wild places with my young son and my husband. What a gift to see new landscapes and frequently visited places all through new eyes.
I use art as a way to remember my adventures and to find closer connection to these outdoor spaces - the mountains, rivers and trails I have explored. I also use art as a way to document what I felt while visiting these wild places.
Recently, I have been exploring how to paint summer trails and winter skin tracks that I have adventured through.
